I have been in Portland since 2002. Prior to establishing a private practice, I practiced for 10 years as a psychiatrist in an adult outpatient mental health clinic. During that time, I gained experience in multiple roles as a clinician, administrator, and assistant professor at Oregon Health & Sciences University.
I graduated from Harvard University with a bachelor’s degree in literature, received my MD at the Stanford University School of Medicine, and completed my psychiatry residency at OHSU. I learned psychodynamic and psychoanalytic approaches to therapy, in addition to medication management. After residency, I did further training in a fellowship focused on PTSD treatment and research. I became certified in cognitive processing therapy (CPT) for posttraumatic stress disorder and also explored other cognitive behavioral and mindfulness-based therapies.
